Pokemon Outlaw swaps the usual "kid sets off to become Champion" setup for something closer to a bounty-hunter story — you're chasing wanted trainers across custom-built towns, and the writing leans grittier and more mature than a typical Pokemon plot. It's built for players who've played the mainline games to death and want the same battle system wrapped in a completely different narrative.
The difficulty spike matches the tone: trainer teams hit harder and are built with more intent than a stock FireRed encounter, and the custom map layout means even veteran players are navigating unfamiliar territory instead of coasting on muscle memory from Kanto.
