Kirby: Squeak Squad

Kirby: Squeak Squad sends Kirby after a gang of treasure-hunting mice who make off with a slice of his cake — a flimsy excuse for a plot that opens onto levels packed with breakable blocks, hidden rooms, and treasure chests stuffed into every corner. Its defining mechanic is a two-slot ability inventory: Kirby can now hold a spare copy ability in reserve and pull it out on demand, or fuse two of the same ability together for a stronger variant, like turning basic Fire into a wider, longer-burning Fire Blaze.

The level design rewards backtracking and thorough exploration more than most classic Kirby games, with treasure chests gating cosmetic unlocks and bonus content rather than mandatory progression, so it plays fine as a straightforward romp or a full completion hunt depending on how much time you want to spend digging through walls. It's a lighter, shorter entry than Super Star Ultra, closer in tone to the original Kirby's Dream Land games.
