Kirby Super Star Ultra rebuilds the beloved SNES original as a single DS cartridge packed with eight distinct sub-games, from the story-driven Revenge of Meta Knight to the pure boss-rush Milky Way Wishes, each playable independently from a central hub menu rather than as one continuous campaign. Copy abilities got a major overhaul here first — Kirby can now swing swords, throw fire, and combo attacks with much deeper movesets than his earlier outings, plus a helper mechanic that lets a second player (or the AI) control an enemy-turned-ally alongside him.

The Ultra re-release adds new sub-games not in the SNES version, including Revenge of the King and a rhythm-based Helper to Hero mode, plus touchscreen minigames and a completionist Meta Knightmare Ultra mode that flips the story to play as Meta Knight himself.
