Pokemon Blue

Pokemon Blue is the pair version to Red, launched alongside it as the original Kanto adventure that started the entire franchise. Blue shares the exact same eight-gym, Elite Four story as Red, but swaps in a different set of version-exclusive Pokemon along the route — Blue trainers get species like Ekans and Ninetales that Red players have to trade for.

Blue includes the same postgame content as Red: Cerulean Cave opens up after becoming Champion, hiding Mewtwo deep inside, and the three legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are scattered across Kanto for trainers chasing a complete Pokedex. Owning both Red and Blue (or simply both ROMs in Delta) is the only way to see every one of the original 151 Pokemon without trading with another player.
