How to Connect an MFi Controller to Delta
Ditch the touchscreen — pair an MFi-certified controller with Delta for a real D-pad and console-accurate button layout.
Overview
MFi (Made for iPhone) controllers — Backbone, Razer Kishi, GameSir, and similar — are natively recognized by iOS, and Delta maps their buttons automatically to most console layouts the moment one is connected, without any extra configuration app in the middle.
There are two connection types worth knowing apart: standalone Bluetooth controllers that pair like any other Bluetooth accessory, and clip-on passthrough controllers that plug directly into the Lightning or USB-C port — those skip Bluetooth pairing entirely and just work the instant they're physically connected.
Once connected, Delta detects the controller automatically and swaps the on-screen touch overlay for physical input, so buttons that used to be tapped on glass now respond to real presses with proper analog-free digital accuracy for GB/GBA/NDS-era games.

Good to Know
Backbone and Kishi don't need Bluetooth pairing at all since they connect through the Lightning/USB-C port directly, so if the game doesn't respond, check the physical connection first.
If Delta doesn't detect the controller right away, force-quit the app and reopen it after connecting — this clears up most first-connection mismatches.
