📖Overview

Xbox Series X/S controllers, and the later revision of the Xbox One controller with Bluetooth built in, pair over standard Bluetooth and are picked up by iOS's game controller framework the same way a DualSense or MFi controller is.

The one thing to check before pairing: older Xbox One controllers that only support the proprietary Xbox Wireless radio (no Bluetooth logo on the controller) need an Xbox Wireless Adapter to work on PC, and iOS doesn't support that adapter at all — look for the small Bluetooth symbol near the Xbox button to confirm compatibility.

Once connected, Delta auto-maps the controller and hides the touch overlay, with the same remapping options available for triggers and bumpers that GBA and NDS games don't natively use.

Step-by-Step

01
Enter Pairing Mode
Hold the small pair button on top of the controller until the Xbox logo flashes rapidly.
02
Pair in iOS Settings
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the controller's name, usually Xbox Wireless Controller, to connect.
03
Open Delta
Start a game — Delta detects the Xbox controller automatically and hides the on-screen touch buttons.
04
Remap Extra Buttons
Use Delta's Settings > Controllers to assign the triggers or bumpers to fast-forward or save-state shortcuts.

💡Good to Know

Only Bluetooth-capable Xbox controllers work directly with an iPhone — check for the Bluetooth symbol on the controller's face, near the Xbox button, before assuming it will pair.

The Xbox Elite Series 2's rear paddles can be mapped in Delta too, once they're assigned a function through the controller's own Xbox Accessories app profile first.
