📖Overview

Delta Emulator has a built-in cheat system that works the same way across every supported console — you just enter codes in the format the original cheat device used. GBA games use GameShark codes, Nintendo DS games use Action Replay codes, and Game Boy / Game Boy Color games use Game Genie codes. Delta figures out which format to expect based on which console the current ROM belongs to.

Cheats in Delta are stored per-game, so codes you add for Pokemon FireRed won't show up when you're playing Pokemon Emerald. Each cheat can be toggled on or off individually, and toggling doesn't require restarting the game or reloading your save — it applies on the next frame.

Every game page on 8bitLoft that has a dedicated cheats section links to a full list of verified codes for that game — this guide covers the mechanics of entering them in Delta itself.

💡Good to Know

Codes must be entered exactly as published — extra spaces, missing line breaks, or a wrong character will make a code silently fail instead of erroring. Copy codes directly from a game's cheats page rather than retyping them.

Running too many cheats at once, especially "walk through walls" or memory-editing codes, can occasionally cause instability or corrupt a save. Save your game in a safe spot before testing a new code for the first time.

Some codes are encounter-based (like shiny or rare Pokemon codes) and only need to be active briefly — turn them off again once you've gotten the result you want.
