Pokemon Vega

Pokemon Vega is one of the more ambitious region-swap hacks out there — instead of reskinning Hoenn, it builds the Rankor region entirely from new tilesets, new towns, and a new map layout, then populates it with a mix of familiar Pokemon and hack-exclusive regional designs you won't find anywhere else. The gym leader lineup, rival characters, and main storyline are all written fresh for this region.

Under the hood it's still running on the Emerald engine, so the battle system feels immediately familiar, but the overworld and encounter tables are built to feel like a genuinely new game rather than a reskin. Type matchups and abilities get some reworking too, so even Pokemon veterans will want to actually check a Pokemon's typing before throwing it into a gym battle.
