Sorrow
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
ROM download for Delta Emulator iOS · Soma Cruz returns to seal an even darker castle, drawing enemy souls to power new abilities
About
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow picks up a year after Aria of Sorrow, sending Soma Cruz back into a newly resurrected castle while a cult tries to force him into embracing his identity as Dracula's reincarnation. It keeps Aria's soul system almost untouched — defeating enemies has a chance to drop their soul, which slots into one of several categories to grant a new attack, familiar, passive buff, or movement ability — but adds touchscreen seal circles you have to trace by hand to finish off bosses, a DS-specific twist that splits opinion but ties combat directly to the hardware.
The castle design leans into the series' best tradition: a sprawling, interconnected map gated by ability checks rather than keys, rewarding backtracking as you accumulate more souls and can reach rooms that were previously impossible. A New Game+ and a Julius Mode unlockable after completion give it more replay value than most entries in the sub-series.
