About
Chrono Trigger assembled a genuine RPG dream team in 1995 — Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yuji Horii, and Akira Toriyama, plus a soundtrack from Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu — and the result still gets cited as one of the best RPGs ever made. Crono and his party bounce across six eras, from the prehistoric age to a post-apocalyptic 2300 AD, chasing a single villain, Lavos, whose consequences ripple across every timeline they visit.
The Active Time Battle system moved fights onto the same screen as exploration instead of a separate arena, combo Techs let party members chain attacks together in ways that changed depending on who was in the group, and the New Game+ let players carry their stats into any of the game's famous 13 different endings. It's rare for a 16-bit RPG to still feel this tightly paced — there's almost no filler across its roughly 25-hour runtime.
This page hosts the verified Chrono Trigger ROM, built for Delta Emulator's SNES core on iPhone — load it directly with no BIOS file or extra setup required.
