Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones follows twin royals Eirika and Ephraim of Renais as their kingdom is invaded by the Grado Empire, kicking off a continent-wide war tied to five Sacred Stones that seal away an ancient Demon King. Partway through the story the campaign splits — you pick either Eirika's or Ephraim's route, each with its own maps, supporting cast focus, and slightly different final chapters, giving the game two distinct playthroughs worth of content.

Sacred Stones was also the series' first GBA entry to let you roam a free world map between story chapters instead of moving in a strict straight line, and it introduced the Tower of Valni and Lagdou Ruins — optional dungeons for grinding low-level units or farming rare items without touching the main story's difficulty curve. Trainee classes, Support conversations, and Master Seal promotions round out one of the more approachable entries in the series for newcomers.
