Golden Sun

Golden Sun follows Isaac, Garet, Ivan, and Mia — Adepts who wield Psynergy, an elemental magic tied to Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water — as they chase down Saturos and Menardi, rogue Adepts trying to reignite the Elemental Lighthouses and unleash the long-suppressed power of Alchemy back onto the world.

What sets Golden Sun apart is how much Psynergy does outside of battle: Move shoves boulders, Lift raises pedestals, Whirlwind clears fog, and puzzle-solving in dungeons and towns is built entirely around swapping between your party's elemental abilities. The Djinn system lets you attach elemental creatures to characters to customize their stats and unlock class changes, and the game famously ends on a direct cliffhanger that carries straight into its sequel, The Lost Age.
