Pokemon Ranger

Pokemon Ranger drops the series' usual battling entirely — instead of throwing Poke Balls, you play as a Ranger from the Ranger Union who "captures" wild Pokemon temporarily by drawing loops around them with the stylus on the Capture Line, then uses their help to solve environmental puzzles and complete field missions across the Fiore region.

The stylus-driven Capture Line is the whole game's identity: circling a Pokemon repeatedly fills a capture gauge while draining your own energy, and different Pokemon require different drawing patterns and speeds to bring under control. Fiore itself is a region with no gyms or Elite Four — missions instead revolve around helping the Ranger Union deal with poachers, environmental threats, and a plot involving the mysterious Go-Rock Squad.
