Scribblenauts

Scribblenauts builds every level around one gimmick and lets it swallow the whole design: type almost any English noun and it materializes in the level for Maxwell to use, from a rope or a jetpack to a dragon or a black hole. Levels present a goal — usually getting a Starite — and leave the method entirely up to whatever objects the player can think to type.

The word database covers tens of thousands of nouns, adjectives, and combinations, and much of the game's appeal comes from testing its edges — summoning absurd combinations just to see what happens rather than solving puzzles the "intended" way. It's less about traditional puzzle logic and more about creative problem-solving with an open-ended toolset, which made it a genuine novelty on release.
