Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is a GBA port of the SNES classic originally subtitled Super Mario World 2, casting you as Yoshi carrying baby Mario on his back across a hand-drawn, crayon-and-watercolor world — losing Mario when hit sends him floating in a bubble on a countdown timer, adding urgency to Yoshi's usual platforming.

The whole game is built around Yoshi's egg-throwing mechanic: swallow enemies to turn them into eggs, then aim and fire them at switches, hidden blocks, and other enemies, layering puzzle-solving on top of platforming in a way few other Mario-adjacent titles attempt. Its distinctive art style, closer to a children's picture book than typical Mario visuals, has kept it a fan favorite for its look as much as its mechanics.
