Integer scaling looks noticeably sharper on GBA titles designed around exact pixel grids — well worth the tiny performance cost for how much cleaner it reads.

If an NDS game still stutters after enabling frame skip, try turning off any per-skin blur or shadow effects, which cost more performance than they look like they should.

Fast-forward briefly overloads the CPU on purpose — expect a heat and battery spike while it's active, that's normal and separate from a genuine performance issue elsewhere.
