About
Pokemon Pearl is the pair version to Diamond, sharing the same Sinnoh region and main story while swapping in Palkia, the Spatial Pokemon, as its box-art legendary and version mascot. The core adventure through Mt. Coronet, the Sinnoh gym circuit, and Team Galactic's plot against Cyrus plays out identically to Diamond, but wild encounters, in-game trades, and a handful of exclusive Pokemon differ between the two versions.
Like Diamond, Pearl includes the Underground for digging up fossils and rare items, the Global Trade Station for trading online, and the Physical/Special move split that changed how damage calculation worked from this generation forward.
